位于俄勒冈的波特兰Avanti Destinations has more than tripled its Central and South America for travel options for 2018-2019.
Among the more than 30 new active, gastronomic and experiential options: Gravity Falls waterfall jumping (Arenal, Costa Rica); Lima’s huarique cuisine by bike (Peru – “huarique” means a small restaurant only known to locals); private trekking the 16,466 ft-high spectacular Rainbow Mountain (Peru); street art walking tour (Vina del Mar, Chile); private Gabriel Garcia Marquez walking tour of magical realism (Cartagena, Colombia); and Santiago bike tour of markets and local life (Chile).
“Leading our booking growth in Central and South America this year are Chile and Argentina, specifically the destinations of Patagonia and Easter Island,” explained Harry Dalgaard, Avanti’s president and CEO.
“The Galapagos has been another area of significant, double-digit growth, so we’ve added more land options and four more ships to increase the number of departures and availability. In addition, we’ve seen a steadily rising demand for higher-end properties, so we’ve focused on 4- and 5-star accommodation particularly in the more off-the-beaten-path places. And we keep adding volunteering options, because independent travelers want to ‘give back,’” added Dalgaard.
Agents can earn a bonus commission of $50 for each booking of $1500 or more made before February 28, 2018 for travel taking place through March 31, 2018. Avanti sells its products exclusively through travel agents.
