Avalon Waterways Returning to Egypt in 2020
byDaniel McCarthy/
Avalon Waterways announced today that it will once again offer Nile River sailings in 2020, traveling to Egypt after a brief time away.
The river cruise line will offer a 10-day “Taste of Egypt” itinerary starting in September 2020.
The journey begins in Cairo and takes guests on an exploration of the city before embarking on their sailing that includes stops to visit the Luxor Temple, Avenue of Sphinxes, the Karnak Temple Complex with the Temple of Amun-Ra, the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Kom Ombo (an unusual double temple), and the Temple of Isis.
The sailing marks another return to Egypt, a region that has been thriving for both land and sea travel over the past two years, after some political unrest had previously disturbed tourism.
Avalon Waterways董事总经理Pam Hoffee说:“我们很高兴回到埃及和尼罗河度假。”“From welcoming travelers to Cairo, ‘Mother of the World,’ and inviting them to look up at the ‘Stairway to the Sky,’ to welcoming them onboard the MS Farah to sail through Africa’s ancient history and civilizations along the Nile, this is a very special, awe-inspiring experience for travelers of all ages.”
Aside from Avalon, Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has also announced thatits new supership, S.S. Satet, which is named after the goddess of the Nile, will start sailing roundtrip from Cairo on the Nile starting in January 2020.
Viking River Cruises also announced this year that it was buildinga new longship for Nilesailings called Osiris.
